Barista & Beyond is more than just a café… Our mission focuses on supporting people with disabilities and other barriers on their journey to meaningful paid employment.
Our Story
Barista & Beyond’s parent company, Ways Into Work, founded our café in 2022. Ways into Work is a community interest company that delivers supported employment services in South East England to individuals with various disabilities and other employment barriers and are currently supporting over 540 clients. Barista & Beyond’s purpose is to promote the joint mission of Changing Lives One Job at a Time. All of the profits made at our café are used to support more people with disabilities to gain employment. Find out more about Ways into Work.
Changing Lives One Job at a Time
Our café includes staff from the local community who have a disability or other employment barrier. We want our café to represent a first-hand example of how employing people with disabilities can benefit an employer, the workforce, and customers. Barista & Beyond Work Experience Opportunities
New Directions College in Reading has partnered with Barista & Beyond to help support their training. The learners on their supported hospitality learning program, are able to gain hands-on work experience as part of their course. This provides them with experience, helping them to learn the skills needed to get a job in the hospitality industry.
